Minority welfare Scholarships under Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala.

As a part of the implementation of Justice Rajindar Sachar Committee Report, and consequent to Paloli Muhammed Kutty Committee report a Minority Cell was constituted under General Administration Department Kerala Government Secretariat, during April 2008. Subsequently, a Minority Welfare Department was constituted in the State.

The Government of Kerala has introduced various scholarships awarded to meritorious students of outstanding performance in the education sector as well as to the students of socially and economically backward categories. This project envisages the development and implementation of a web-enabled scholarship management system to facilitate the Directorate of Minority Welfare for an efficient, foolproof system for the selection of the students and also do the disbursements.

Meritorious Scholarships under Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala

The Government of Kerala has introduced various scholarships awarded to meritorious students of outstanding performance in the education sector as well as to the students of socially and economically backward categories. The Higher Education Department of the Government of Kerala is entrusted with the responsibility of selection and disbursement of various scholarships to Higher Secondary, Under Graduate, and Post Graduate Streams.

C H Muhammedkoya Scholarship (CHMS) Eligibility Details

Scholarships Amount:

  • Under Graduates: Rs. 5,000/Year
  • Post Graduates: Rs. 6,000/Year
  • Professional Courses: Rs. 7,000/Year
  • Hostel Stipend: Rs. 13,000/Year

Eligibility Conditions:

  1. Should belong to Muslim, Latin, Converted Christian community and should be a native of Kerala.
  2. Should be a GIRL student studying for Graduation or Higher courses in Govt./ Aided Institution.
  3. Students who got admission to Self-financing colleges from merit seats are also eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  4. Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination.
  5. Family Annual income should not exceed 8 Lakhs.
  6. Those who apply for a Hostel stipend should be staying in recognized hostels.
  7. Those who are eligible for hostel stipend will not be eligible for scholarships.

ITC Fee Reimbursement (ITCF) Eligibility Details

Scholarships Amount:

  • 2 Year Course : Rs.20,000/-
  • 1 Year Course : Rs.10,000/-

Eligibility Conditions:

  1. Should belong to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddha, Parsis, Jain community
  2. Should be a native of Kerala
  3. Family Annual income should not exceed 8 Lakhs.

Scholarships Amount:

  • Final Course: Rs.15,000/- per annum

Eligibility Conditions:

  2. Should have scored 60 percentage or above in the qualifying Examination.
  3. Should be a native of Kerala

Eligibility Conditions:

  1. Should belong to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddha, Parsis, Jain community
  2. Family-Annual income should not exceed 8 Lakhs

Post Matric Scholarship For Minorities - NSP (PMS) Eligibility Details

Scholarships Amount:

  • An amount equivalent to Admission and Course/Tuition Fee and Maintenance allowance, subjected to a maximum ceiling. See Instructions for details.

Eligibility Conditions:

  1. Should be the First Year student of
    • Plus Two/ UG/ PG/ Ph.D Course of Higher Secondary School/ College/ Institutes/ University, which is either a Govt/ Aided/Recognised Unaided Institution.
      OR
    • 11th Class/Technical/ Vocational Course of ITI/ITC Centres affiliated to NCVT.
      OR
    • Course, other than those listed under merit-cum-means scholarship scheme. The names of courses listed under Merit-cum-means scholarship are given in See Instructions for details.
  2. Should belong to Minority Community (Muslim/ Christian/ Buddhists/ Sikh/ Zoroastrians or Parsis).
  3. Should have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous Board/ University Examination.
  4. The Annual Family Income should not exceed Rs. 2 Lakhs.
  5. Should not be availing of any other Scholarship or Stipend.
  6. Scholarships will not be given to more than two students in a family.
  7. The scholarships will be sanctioned under the criterion laid down by the Central Government.

Central Sector Scholarship -NSP (CSS)

The Central Sector Scholarships are merit-cum-means scholarship scheme for those brilliant students who belong to economically disadvantaged families. To apply for Central Sector's merit-cum-means scholarship, the applicant must have an 80% or above-secured score in the relevant stream in the class 12 board exam.

State Merit Scholarship -DCE (SMS) Eligibility Details

Scholarships Amount:

  • Graduation Rs. 1250/- per annum (300 Nos)
  • Post Graduation Rs. 1,500/- per annum (150 Nos.)

Eligibility Conditions:

  1. Should be a first-year student of Under Graduate or Post Graduate course in Govt/ Aided colleges or University Departments.
  2. Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination.
  3. Family annual income should not exceed 1 Lakh. For Exemption of annual income based on merit, please see the notification.

District Merit Scholarship - DCE (DMS) Eligibility Details

Scholarships Amount:

  • Rs. 1,250/- per annum.

Eligibility Conditions:

  1. Should have scored A Plus in all subjects in the SSLC Examination March 2018, conducted by Board of Public Examinations, Kerala State.
  2. Should be studying for Higher Secondary/ VHSC/ ITI/ Poly Technic Course.
