This huge Shiva sculpture was built by the Pulinkudi Azhimala Shiva Temple Devaswom Trust. The Shiva form is built on the rocks in the middle of the Azhimala Shiva Temple and the beach.

It took six long years to complete the construction of this Shiva statue. This beautiful Shiva statue has built by a sculptor named Devadathan, who graduated in sculpting.

A 3,500 sq. Ft. Meditation hall is being constructed on three floors below the Shiva statue. Devotees can enter here through 27 steps by entering through a small cave entrance on the side of the Shiva statue. The walls are engraved with the form of Ardhanareeswara and the sleeping form of Lord Shiva. The legend of the temple is also inscribed on the walls.
