Arnab Goswami remanded in judicial custody for 14 days In the case of suicide incitement
Mumbai: Republic TV editor Arnab Goswami, who was arrested in a suicide incitement case, has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. The court ordered Arnab to be remanded in judicial custody after more than six hours of proceedings.
According to the report by The Print, Arnab Goswami has been arrested and remanded 14 days in judicial custody in an alleged case of abetment to suicide. He was remanded to judicial custody till Nov 18 by a court here. The court gave the ruling late in the night.
Arnab Goswami was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the suicide of Alibag interior designer Anway Naik.
However, the Editors' Guild and the Central Government came out against the manner in which Arnab Goswami was arrested. Mumbai police have made a dramatic move to arm themselves with a case that was earlier closed in court. The arrest comes at the end of a long-running cold war between Mumbai police and Republic TV.
