Deepak Samal, who is a travel video blogger, nature photographer, environmentalist, from New Delhi, India, was experienced an unbelievable tradition, "Sky-Burial". on his trip to Lah. When he went to Leh, he was accompanied by a group of Buddhist monks. He was curious to learn more about their traditions and culture on that trip. Later, Samal had to tell us about some amazing stories. On his Facebook post, he talks about Sky Burial the Nature-Friendly Cremation, which he experienced on that trip.

When I was travelling to Leh, I was with a group of Buddhist monks. The distance was so long. I was curious to know more about their traditions and culture. Then he told me something which was not expected. The story of Sky burial of high attitudes.
What is life??
Life is the circle of your desires and responsibilities. Most of us run after desires and some after responsibilities in their entire life.
But what happens after we are done with these desires and responsibilities? In the entire life cycle, we have heard that if we do good things we will get heaven and if we do bad things, we will get hell. All human beings want their soul to go to heaven. After death, in some religions, it is considered that the body should be cremated in a respectful manner. In Hinduism, we burn the dead body and flow the ashes in the holy river. In Muslims and Christianity, we bury the dead body with respect.

Today, I am gonna tell you about the nature-friendly cremation of the world. You might have never heard about it.

Vultures that eat the body are considered sacred. Tibetans believe that if a vulture eats the dead body, the soul was pure and will attain a good rebirth. There are certain rituals to this practice. When the person dies, the body is kept outside the house for 3 to 5 days and monks chants mantras and sutras for the soul to migrate from death to the next life. Then it is carried away by a body carrier to a mountain top. There, the body is bent into a fetal position. Smoke is released to signal the vultures that a body is available for feasting. Once the birds notice that there is a corpse, the priest discloses the body parts to them.
During the Celestial funeral" the priest (Rogyapa), they call their loved ones before removing all the clothes. They come together to see the dead body for the last time for their loving memories. And then they remove all the clothes from the dead body so that vultures can rip large pieces of flesh. After some minutes, Only the bones are left behind the vultures. The priest collects all the remaining bones and crushes them by hammer and axe.
According to the Buddhist belief, the body is a mere vehicle to transport life once the individual dies and as the final show of charity, his body must serve as food to sacred vultures.
Not in vain, the vulture is considered by priests a very Buddhist bird. It does not kill other beings and accept what comes to them. The natural course of things.
