Rajya Sabha Member MP Veerendra Kumar has Passed Away

Kozhikode: MP Veerendra Kumar has passed away at a private hospital in Kozhikode. He was admitted to the hospital after suffering chest pains around 8 pm on Thursday. Veerendra Kumar also served as the chairman and managing director of the Malayalam daily newspaper Mathrubhumi. He is currently a Rajya Sabha member. Burial will be held in Kalpetta.

A well-known politician and literary figure in Kerala, Veerendra Kumar, passed away at the age of 83. He passed away shortly due to a cardiac arrest. He was with his wife, son and three daughters. Veerendra Kumar who won twice as Lok Sabha member from Kozhikode also served as a minister at both the Centre and state. He also received the Sahitya Akademi award for his travelogue, Haimavatha Bhhovil, in 2010.
