Medicine and Health Sciences Eligibility and Entrance Exams

B.D.S. (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)

Course Duration: 4 years

BDS is a professional degree program in dentistry. Candidates must have completed at least 10+2 level of education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. The minimum score requirement may vary but General candidates must have scored at least 50% marks in the Intermediate examination.

B.H.M.S. (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery)

M.D. (Doctor of Medicine)

Course Duration: 3 years

M.D. is a degree that is awarded to doctors who are physicians. (Minimum eligibility for doing M.D. course is MBBS and 50% minimum aggregate score)

M.S. (Master of Surgery)

Course Duration: 3 years

M.S. is a degree that is awarded to doctors who master a course in surgery. (Minimum eligibility for doing M.S. course is MBBS.)

B.V.Sc (Bachelor in Veterinary Science)

Course Duration: 5.5 years

BVSc, also known as Bachelor of Veterinary Science is an undergraduate course of 5 years in the field of veterinary science. The minimum eligibility for B.V.Sc is class 12 with 50% marks.

D.M (Doctorate in Medicine)

Course Duration: 2 to 3 years

D.M is a doctorate degree equivalent to the Ph.D., awarded by many universities in the USA. Doctors who have an M.D. degree are eligible to apply for this. The minimum qualification required for D.M. is M.D. / M.S. / PG Medical Diploma, and 40% - 50% minimum score required.

B.Pth or BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy)

Course Duration: 4.5 years

Candidates who pursue physiotherapy are known as physiotherapists. To pursue BPT, candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 10+2.

B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy)

Course Duration: 4 years

Candidate must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks with biology/mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects, or D.Pharm (Diploma in Pharmacy). This degree involves the knowledge of pharmacy.

B.Sc Nursing

Course Duration: 4 years

Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Biology with a minimum of 45% marks.

B.P.T (Physiotherapy)

Course Duration: 4.5 years

Candidate must have passed in 12th class or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in physics, chemistry, and biology.

B.O.T (Occupational Therapy)

Course Duration: 3 years

Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Biology. Some institutions may opt for an entrance examination.

B.U.M.S (Unani Medicine)

Course Duration: 5.5 years

BUMS degree is equivalent to the BAMS but in Unani medicines. Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Biology. Urdu is compulsory up to 10th class or equivalent Education.

BMLT (Bachelor of Medical Lab Technicians)

Course Duration: 3 year

BMLT is a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology, which contains the entire laboratory practices of the medical system. The candidate must have passed the 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB).

DMLT (Diploma of Medical Lab Technicians)

Course Duration: 1 year

DMLT is a medical diploma course of medical laboratory technology, contains the laboratory practices of the medical field. The candidate must have passed the 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB).
