While PM CARES has collected over 10,000 crores, here's what's happening:
- West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee requested the Centre for 1 lakh PPE kits urgently. Guess how many were sanctioned? ONLY 3000 kits.
- Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren requested 75,000 PPE kits. Only 5000 have been sanctioned.
Both Opposition states. Both suffering in a precarious situation with no help from Centre.
Modi is making money in the middle of a pandemic while playing with the lives of millions.
We urgently need a Parliamentary Standing Committee on Covid-19.
This committee (composed of MPs across parties) would be an effective way for formulating a joint response to the pandemic while ensuring that experts are consulted on every step.
It'll be the systemic check and balance that we desperately need.
Most importantly - it'll help prevent the Modi govt from hiding facts/data from people and steal public money while getting them to bang utensil
