She was born in a Malayali-Indian family in Chicago, Illinois, United States, the family is settled in Dallas, Texas, most of her childhood was in Dallas, Texas. Later she moved to India to pursue her career in acting.
She made her film debut in Malayalam film Swapna Sanchari (2011), and as heroin in Action Hero Biju (2016) starring Nivin Pauly, directed by Abrid Shine.
Anu Emmanuel made her Telugu film debut with Majnu (2016) it went become a hit at the box-office, and she acted in many films such as Kittu Unnadu Jagratha (2017), Oxygen, and Agnyaathavaasi (2018).
She has also worked with Tamil films, making her debut with the suspense thriller Thupparivaalan (2017) alongside Vishal.
